The Garage

Our house was built in 1941 so I can only assume that this is also the age of our garage. The poor thing has definitely seen better years, it's looking very tired and sad. We've been here for 4 years and have watched the garage as it slowly migrates towards the neighbours yard, inch by inch. Quite honestly this is the ugliest looking structure, and it's also the first thing I see each time I set foot in the back yard!! We planned on demolishing it last year.....but of course the furnace decided to go first, so there it stands all crooked & chipped & sad.

I have noticed though through the lens of my camera that the garage as ugly as it may be does have some special endearing parts to it.......
The floor, made of railroad ties:

The door that you have to duck to go through...and I'm not that tall:

The handle that is falling off:

A hole in the wood of the a roof board:

This proves that while something may appear to be old, ugly & tired at first glance, if you spend the time and use some creative vision you will find it's beauty! I hope once the weather warms up I can find some more beauty in this old garage.......before we tear the sucker down! LOL
