With her moving of course we (well my Mom & Uncle mostly) have the job of cleaning out her apartment, and it's pack full of things. Of course there's the usual junk that no one in the family wants or needs, but there are many treasures to be found as well.
This is one very special treasure that I have claimed for myself.........
Isn't she a beauty!!! I have named her Claire after my Grandma! She runs smooth as silk for such an old girl, best guess is that she's at least 50yrs old, my Mom remembers sewing with her when she was in High School. She also comes with her own carrying case....sweet!
There are memories held in this old machine, and I can't wait to start making more!

I have my grandmother's old machine. Maybe one of these days I'll see if I can get it fixed. I even have the old bench that holds everything in it for storage.
I think my next project will be to learn how to clean/oil my new machine and then learn to sew straight. lol
I have my Grandmother's antique sewing machine - you know the one you had to pump the big pedal? It's an old Singer. My Mom used to sew on it when she was a girl.
I'm happy to hear that you named her after your Grandmother. It's very fitting.
What a great find. What a HUGE job it must be sorting through all of her stuff. Sorry to hear that she's in the hospital. Please tell your mom that I'm thinking about her during this difficult time.
Claire is certainly a treasure! Enjoy her.
A wonderful treasure ... enjoy!
you are so very lucky Lisa!
I have the cabinet from my Great Grandma's old machine and I love knowing where it came from.
Awesome! Glad to be back reading your blog! Loved the halloween photos too.
