Kraft Resist

Ever since I saw a sneak peak on Tim Holtz's blog showing is Kraft Resist papers I knew I HAD to have it!

I have actually had it in my possession for a little while now but I finally cracked into it for my July Reveal at Love Is In The Details!  Yay!!

Here are a couple of summery layouts I made....

I also made a mini album using Tim's movers & shapers Vintage Valise die....you know it fits 4x6 photos perfectly!!!  Here are a few images of the album.

You can see the rest of the mini and my reveal on the LIITD Blog!

Well I'm off to work on a little organization project...which I promise to share soon!

LIITD - June Reveal

It's time for my monthly reveal at Love Is In The Details!! This month I picked Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe pack to work with. This paper was very girly....not something I use alot but I loved it!!

To go along with the Crate Paper I also picked some Maya Road chipboard, Maya Road canvas banners and Ranger's Shrink Plastic.  If you have not used the shrink plastic I recommend it...so much fun!!!  Seriously it's like being a kid again and watching Shrinky Dinks through the oven window!

I made the butterfly on this layout using the Shrink Plastic and the Tim Holtz Fanciful Flight sizzix die.  I even pulled out the alcohol inks to color it!

Once I opened up this paper pack I knew that this line was perfect for these fairy photos!  This girl was just beautiful, her wings & backdrop are absolutely gorgeous!  She gave the kids each a little glass stone and then sprinkled them with some Fairy Dust.

I snapped this photo of my Mom sewing a few years back, actually she had no idea I'd even taken it! LOL  Watching my Mom sew holds a lot of memories for me going back to being a little girl.  Sewing is not a passion that I've picked up, but I do enjoy stitching on my layouts...so it's not totally lost on me. ha ha ha

Out For Publication

These are just a few things from my reveal, you can head over to the LIITD Blog to see the rest.

Thanks for stopping by!!

A little Core'dinations

May was quite the busy month at http://www.loveisinthedetails.ca/scrapbookingcanada/index.php , we had the NSD online crop and then the big Vegas in Miami crop....which was a blast!!! (you can see some highlights HERE.....http://loveisinthedetails.ca/blog/2011/05/30/vegas-liitd-style/).

With all the crop planning, work being crazy and soccer season starting there was very little time to get crafty. So with all that instead of doing a full reveal I decided to do a product spotlight!

I have a great love for Core'dinations cardstock, but sometimes I just forget to pull it out (making mental note to use it more). Here are a couple of cards I made....

I used my Cuttlebug cut & emboss butterfly die set for the card above. Once I had the butterflies embossed all it took was a little sanding to bring out that embossed image!

On this card the first thing I did was using my scorpal I made a little frame on the black base and sanded it to bring it out. I also did the same thing to create the lines on the leaves for an extra touch. The flowers were hand cut and the edges were torn (Core'dinations tears beautifully), then wound up with a gem in the centre.....easy peasy!!

I see blogger is still not cooperating with me, so please ignore the formatting and spelling errors. I'll be back on the weekend with my June Reveal for LIITD!

I hear an Echo!

Apparently it's spring.....almost Easter even, but you sure can't tell by the weather we're having right now. We had a bit more snow this weekend, which we really don't need with the high river levels and flooding already.

It's time for another Love Is In The Details reveal!!! This month I choose Echo Park - For The Record to work with. What a great mix of papers ranging between a touch of vintage and bright...perfect mix if you ask me!

Here are my layouts, I'm loving how different they turned out....kind of like my kids!!

I also made a mini album with some photos from our Arizona trip, it's a thank you gift for my Mom. You can see the rest of my reveal on the LIITD Blog!

If you're looking to get your hands on this paper pack, Lori made a little oops and ordered too much...good news for us because she has it discounted HERE!

Ok off I go to hit the scrap table, I have lots of work to do, lots of things to get ready for the Vegas Crop in May!!! I think there's a few spots left...so if you're close (or feel like a road trip) you can find all the details here.

What a Weekend!!!!

My weekend started Thursday after work....I headed out to Miami, MB to meet up with Lori and our adventure began!!
The two of us (and her daughter) headed out to Edmonton, AB to attend the Memories Wholesale event! We got to see so many new products by tons of different companies, do some make n' takes, attended 8 classes!!!
My favorite class was with Mr. Tim Holtz himself!!! Wow what an amazing teacher and so generous with the products!! Check out the photo below!!!
Let me say, 32 hours of driving, 12 hours of sleep, 8 scrappy classes and over 100 hours of talking makes for one fun weekend!!!! Yes we were tired, but it was all worth it to have the chance to meet Tim and take his class!!
Sunday was also my reveal day at Love Is In The Details, here are a couple of the projects I made....you can see the rest on the Blog!

And I had some exciting news waiting for me when I got home.......I made the DT at Counterfeit Kit Challenge!!!! I can't wait to start playing along and hope you'll all join me there!!
Ok I have a TON of stuff to put away from the weekend event.....not sure where it will all fit, but I'm sure I'll find room!

A moment to breathe!!

Things are busier than ever around here, I was looking at the calender to try and schedule a haircut for myself....not a single day free for the next week or so. But hockey & ringette will be coming to an end soon, which will give us a little more time on the weekends!

The sunday reveal at Love Is In The Details was all about Valentine's day and making a RAK for someone special! I made these little boxes for my kiddos and filled them up with sugary treats!

Of course they loved them......they were filled with candy after all!! LOL

Last weekend we also hosted our annual Month of Love Online Crop...if you haven't had a chance to join us there's still time..you have until Sunday to finish up all the challenges!

Here are a couple of things I made for my crop challenges.

When Sean was younger he always had to get in real close to the camera when I was trying to take pictures....so cute, and made for some really great photos, and a lot of really blurry ones! LOL

I hope you had a sweet Valentine's full of love & chocolate!!

A little vintage Christmas!

Here we are again another month over and another reveal up at Love Is In The Details!!
When Graphic 45 released their Christmas Past collection it was instant love.....and even though I had to wait a year to get it, it was well worth the wait!!!
Here are a few items from my reveal, you can see the rest on the LIITD Blog along with a full list of supplies!
This picture was taken in 1974...my first Christmas, I was 9 months old! My Mom saved that little white dress and my daughter wore it too when she was a baby. I hope one day she has a daughter of her own to pass the dress on to! And you have to love my brothers matching pjs!!
I can say that I'm not a little ahead for next Christmas! I made this canvas to eventually give to my Mom as a gift, I just need to find the perfect photo to add to it....which also means being sneaky and going through her photos! ;) I know I can pull it off, I've done it before!

And again a little ahead, I now have a couple of Christmas cards made and ready to go! Here's one of the cards I made.

Thanks for visiting!

Birthdays & Christmas...oh my!

My sweet girl turned 8 yesterday.....wow where did my baby go? Friday night she had her birthday party with her girlfriends, they danced, they ate, danced some more, watched a movie and a couple of them slept over!! All around they had so much fun!!

Now that the birthdays are done for another year it's time to focus on Christmas...and that's exactly what we did for this weeks reveal at Love Is In The Details! We each made something Christmas themed and if you go to the BLOG you will see a sneak peek into every one's home at Christmas!

I found this little container in my stash of stuff, it's left over from some My Mind's eye chipboard pieces I got in a kit last year. I decorated it up and filled it with Cookies & Cream & Candy Cane flavored Kisses. Dropped it off at my Mom's today for a little Christmas treat!

This wreath I made has been on my mind for a year, it's one of those projects that didn't get done last year...but hey at least I got it done. The Tim Holtz Snowman Die was perfect for this project! I love snowmen they're just so darn cute and I have a bit of a collection going on!

I'm off to finally decorate my house....can't believe I'm getting this done so late this year. Tomorrow night I'll be baking up a storm with my Mom...mmm Christmas cookies!
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas (or whatever you celebrate) full of family and good food!

LIITD Sunday Reveal!

Here we are the first Sunday in December....have you got your tree up yet? How about your Christmas shopping, is it done? I have to admit I have neither of these things done...wah!! But the Birthday parties for Sean & Sami are planned....mostly...so that's one thing off my list.
Speaking of lists do you keep a running list of Christmas presents you've bought? I normally do, and I haven't made one this year..eek!!! I need to sit down tonight and get that list going so I know what I've bought and what I still need.
Once again this week the entire Creative Team is part of the Love Is In The Details reveal...I love how different our projects end up! Lori sent us these cute little wood 'houses' to play with, and oh are they fun!!! You can see how each CT member decorated their houses on the LIITD Blog!

It's also my day to post one of our December Challenges, I went with a Color Challenge...you can see the details HERE. I decided to make a card this time around. I'm sure I'm not the only one who hasn't finished their Christmas cards yet!

I am LOVING this new Tim Holtz die!! Yay!!

Speaking of the man himself, have you been following the 12 Tags of Christmas? The techniques and inspiration Tim comes up with each year is amazing!! I hope to get a couple of the tags done before the month is up!

Off to get one list going and mark some things off another!

Easy gift idea!

I'm a little behind on my blogging....ok I'm a little behind on everything right now...eek it's December!

The Sunday reveal at Love Is In The Details included all of the Creative Team Members and Nola our Project Designer!

To jump start the Christmas season and give everyone a quick and very cute gift idea Lori sent us all 5 coffee bags to play with!!

I mixed mine up and made a couple of Christmas bags but added some for other occasions....

It's fun to see how we all made our bags so different!! You can see all of them on the LIITD BLOG!

The possibilities with these bags are endless, and they're really fun & easy to make! You can purchase the bags...HERE.

Steamy Reveal!

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope you're all have a fabulous weekend!!!

Today is my November Love Is In The Details reveal. This month I choose some Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante and My Minds Eye Lost & Found...along with a few other little goodies.

I will admit that is was really hard to cut into all that paper....I was tempted to just frame it all and move on, but that's not very creative is it?! LOL

I have always loved antique & vintage things, they seem to have a quality and beauty that modern day items are missing. Plus just thinking of the history of each item and the mysteries they hold I find very intriguing. Oh if only I had a larger house (and maybe win a lotto) I would fill it with beautiful antiques!
It's been a while since I did a BOM page......when was the last time you made one?

I absolutely love this image from the Graphic 45 paper....so much so that I wanted to really show it off and made this little canvas!

I have a couple more layouts that I created for this reveal, you can find them in my Gallery.

With Christmas coming you might want to check out the new section Lori has added over at LIITD......Packaging - 'Wrap it up'!!

Mini Reveal

Lori has me busy helping with the Love Is In The Details Harvest Ball Crop on October 23, 2010...but I still wanted to do an October reveal...so it was decided that I would do a mini reveal.
I have been eyeing the 7 Gypsies Receipt Holders since they were released...as soon as I saw Lori had brought these in I knew this would be perfect for my reveal this month! I paired the receipt holder with some October Afternoon Thrift Shop papers...and some 7 Gypsies charms!

I found this cute mini bird cage at Micheal's in their dollar bin, actually passed it up the first time...but when it was still there and only a couple left I couldn't resist it. It was originally bright yellow...not too fond of the color so I spray painted it white then used some Ranger's alcohol ink to antique it a bit.
You can see some close ups in my LIITD Gallery....HERE.
To those that are joining us at the crop next weekend I can't wait to see you all. If you can't join us don't worry there is also an Online Crop happening. You can find the details about the Online Crop in the Forum!
Thanks for visiting!

Lost & Found

It's time for another Love Is In The Details reveal!!! I have to say that I absolutely LOVE that Lori let's each of the designers choose what we want to create with each month!!! By letting us pick our own items Lori really has let our creativeness free....each of us gets to showcase our own personal style...and use products that inspire us!!!

For September I picked the Tim Holtz Lost & Found paper pack....yeah big shocker I picked a TH item! LOL I just couldn't resist, I had wanted this for a while and Lori just got it back in stock! (There's still one left, just saying)

I also picked some Maya Road Chipboard, Ranger Dimensional Pearls, Making Memories Word Fetti, Riff Raff Chipboard & Tim Holtz Timepieces.

Here are 3 layouts I made for the reveal, the rest can be viewed either on the LIITD Blog or in my gallery!

Thanks for visiting!!!

And remember you have until midnight September 26/10 to have you items uploaded for Lori's Surprise Crop!!! You can check it out HERE.

Stamp Crazy ~ LIITD August Reveal!!

I went stamp crazy for this month's reveal.....and what better stamps to get crazy with than some Tim Holtz stamps!!!!

Here's a photo of what I picked for my Love Is In The Details August reveal...warning doesn't look like much, but wait till you see what I did. ;)

  • Bazzill Smothies Cardstock - Coconut Swirl
  • Tim Holtz - Urban Chic Stamp Set
  • Tim Holtz - Curio Knobs
Here are a few photos from my reveal....the rest can be viewed either on the LIITD Blog or in my Gallery.

The pages started out as plain white smooth cardstock....I inked with distress ink and stamped each page then backed with some brown cardstock to finish them off!

For years I've been looking for something to hang my keys on, but I just never found one that I wanted. So I made one!!! The base of this is a canvas I found at the dollar store!

Samantha's getting a little older and I know soon enough she's going to want some privacy when she's hanging out in her room, so I made her this sweet little door hanger. The bottom piece can be flipped around to let you know if she wants you to knock or if you're free to come in.

I really love the saying on this stamp and just had to frame it up!!! This old frame has been hanging around my house for years unused and unloved.....well it's feeling the love now.

Thanks for stopping by....I hope you'll all pull out your distress inks & stamps and go crazy!
