Die~Namite Wedding

One more day and the kids go back to school...please tell me I'm not the only parent ready for this! LOL

Yesterday our inaugural Monthly Sketch and Dare Challenge was introduced on the Die-Namites Blog.

I used the sketch as inspiration for this wedding card I created using the Tulip Serenade Die.

When I first received this die I was holding it upside down and thought what a beautiful bell...I soon realized that's not what it was meant to be, but hey I like to break the rules a bit!

You can see more about this card on the Die-Namites Blog!

I'm off to get the kids ready for school, have a great day!

More Halloween Fun

Here's another little Halloween project I made...this time I used some awesome products from Love My Tapes!

The lid of the coffin is covered with one of their Fabric Sheets, this one feels like leather....so soft, I love it!  The best part is you can stamp & use embossing powder on it just like paper, how awesome is that?!

I finished off the edge of the lid with some Black Lace Tape.

Later this week I'll have another project to share for Love My Tapes!

Thanks for stopping by!

CKC Blog Hop

My deepest apologies everyone I must have messed up my dates for the blog hop...oops!  I hope you'll all hop by later tonight to see what I've made.

It's been a crazy day today, and again I'm sorry to be so late...but better late than never, especially for a party!  You should have arrived here from Susanne's blog, if not be sure to head back over to CKC and start from the beginning.

This months blog hop challenge was to showcase a stamping technique, now there was a technique I was trying to do but it was not working.  But I see that Lisa H used it and has a handy link on her blog, so I'll be off to study!

After a little frustration I went with techniques I know well.  If you spend any time on my blog you will know that I love Tim Holtz Distress Inks, they are my go to ink for just about everything.  One of the many things I love about them is how nice they look when you layer stamped images using different colors of Distress Ink.

After I layered the butterfly using Barn Door I decided I wanted it to pop a little more so I added some clear embossing powder....it really makes a difference!

I also decided to add a little stamped flourish to the top left corner of the card.  But the green is so dark that I decided to use a little Distress Embossing powder (scattered straw) to lighten up the corner, but not take any focus away from the rest of the card.
Thank you for hopping by (and forgiving my lateness) please continue on the hop and head over to Gabrielle's blog to see her fabulously fun layout!!

Stamp an Embellishment

Hello there bloggers!  The newest challenge at Counterfeit Kit is to stamp an embellishment.  I love this challenge it really opens up so many creative possibilities to really make your layout/card/project special and unique.

I couldn't wait to scrap this photo of Sami from the first day of school, it's so hard to believe she's in grade 4 already.

The little boy/girl reading the book image was stamped using Ranger Archival ink, then I colored it with some water color pencils.  This image was perfect for the layout, Sami regularly has her nose in a book.  I also added some stamps on the red tag, and the background paper.

I hope you'll come out and join us for this stamptastic challenge!  Be sure to hit the CKC blog and see all the fun embellishments the DT made!

Boo!

The air has gotten much cooler, soon the leaves will start to change and I'm in the mood for a little Halloween fun!

For my reveal at Love Is In The Details today I used one of the Tim Holtz Configurations boxes to create a spooky Halloween display.  This project took a lot of work, but oh so worth it once it was done!!

I started with covering the outside and all the individual boxes with Tim Holtz Seasonal papers.  Adding the tissue tape to hide all the seams between the boxes.  Once that was done it was time to fill it up with lots of spooky things.

I even recycled a bit, the mesh 'leaves' that I added to the rosette were from the mesh bag that held the skeleton I picked up, I love how it looks on this project!

Thanks for stopping by!

Layout for Friday

Woohoo it's Friday!!!  I know it's been a short week, but why did it feel so long?

I have another layout to share using products from Love My Tapes......this stuff really rocks, and I'm having a blast using it!

This week I pulled out one of the Fabric Sheets, using it to replace pattern paper, and I love how it adds some extra texture to my page.

I hope you'll head over to the Love My Tapes blog and check out what all the other designers are creating, they have some amazing ideas!

Enjoy the weekend!

CKC September Kit

Fall is almost here, the kids are heading back to school tomorrow and life starts to get quite a bit busier in our house.  With the change of season I knew it was time for me to say goodbye to Counterfeit Kit, so this will be my last month as a Master Forger.  I have really enjoyed working with all the members of CKC, and watching all the wonderful kits pulled together by our followers.

This month we have taken our inspiration from one of Sweet Peach Crop Shop's past kits from September 2010, you can view the kit here.

I used the Juicy Themed kit as my inspiration, here is the kit I pulled together....

We have a special sponsor this month, you can see all the details here!

Shapshot

I thought I had this scheduled to post while I was away..oops I guess not.  Anyway a few days late but here it is...

I have another layout today that I created using products from Love My Tapes!

I went masculine for this layout to show you how versatile the Fabric Tapes are and that you can use the Lace Tapes even on a masculine page.

Here's a closer look at the tapes, and that vintage camera is from on of their Canvas Sticker sheets.

Be sure to head over to the Love My Tapes blog for more details about my layout and make sure you check out all the awesome creations from the other Design Team members!

Sketch Play

Our first challenge this month at Counterfeit Kit is to use a sketch from Sketch Support.  But we've added a little twist to the challenge...you need to either make a card based on a layout sketch or a layout based on a card sketch!

I picked one page sketch #5 to create my card

Head over to the Counterfeit Kit Blog to play along and see what the other members of the design team have created!

August Counterfeit Kit

Today all the DT members at Counterfeit Kit revealed their kits for the month, and WOW there are so many amazing looking kits!!

Our inspiration for August came from My Creative Scrapbook where again we choose an older kit to use the September 2010 kit.  I took my inspiration from the main kit, I just loved the colors and slightly vintage feel to it.

Here's my kit......

We also have a fabulous sponsor this month Allison Davis!!!  By playing along with us this month you'll have a chance to win one of her Sketch Books!  You should also check out Allison's sketch blog...Sketch Support.
