We belong together...

I need to play a bit of catch up here, so many things to post...where to start?!

Today I'm going to start with my most recent layout for Love My Tapes.  I used lots of little strips of Fabric Tape, Fabric Sheet & Lace Tape for this layout.

The photo of Mike & I was so dark that I really wanted to offset it with lots of white space and light colors.

List of Love

We're still in the month of March right?  I cannot believe the amazing weather we're having, almost all our snow is gone and the temps are so high I might even pull on the shorts this weekend!  Every year my birthday wish is to have no snow on my birthday, since it is the first day of spring and all.  I think once in the (soon to be) 38 years of my life this wish has come true, and it looks like I'll get my wish this year!  I guess I won't need all those candles on my birthday cake! LOL

Today I have another layout for Love My Tapes to share, it's a list of the top 5 things I love about my daughter Samantha.

I pulled out lots of Love My Tapes supplies for this layout. The heart banner is made using the Taffy Fabric Tape and the hearts were cut from this Fabric Sheet. Under the journaling strips I used the Jane Fabric Tape, and I mounted the photo with some fabric sheets & tape, then added a few bits of the Dark Pink Lace Tape.

Spreading some more February Love

I am back to spread a little more love today with another Valentine's project!

I created this mixed media canvas using Love My Tapes, fabric sheets & lace tape to create the hearts.



Each heart was created either using one of the Fabric Sheets or by covering paper with some Lace Tapes.

This was a lot of fun to make, I might have to make another one like it...because this one was shipped off to the company to use at CHA.

More Valentine's Fun!

Hello there bloggers, I have another Valentine's project to share today!

I went a little outside the box on this one, had a little fun with some Love My Tapes frabric sheets.

I used the traditional pink for this project, but decided to add a little fun & whimsy with the Cow Print Fabric Sheet on the mannequin.

The inside of the arch is covered using the Hot Pink Suede Fabric Sheet, and the chipboard butterflies are covered with the Light Pink Snake Skin Fabric Sheet. I love the different textures all these fabric sheets add to a project. I also added a little strip of White Lace Tape to the bottom of the project.

The month of love isn't over yet, I'll be back tomorrow with yes another Valentine's project to share.  And the fun won't stop there, I still have a few other goodies up my sleeve!!

 

I have never made this many Valentine's projects in all the years since I started scrapbooking.....combined!  Not sure what got into me this year, must have been hit by one of Cupid's arrows! LOL

Another LMT Layout

Happy Wednesday!! 

Here we are another week almost over and before you know it the first month of the new year will be behind us too.

Exciting things happening the weekend CHA starts, I always love hunting for all the company peeks of their new goodies.  I'm also going to the Disney on Ice show with my Mom & Sami, yay for a girls day!

I have another layout that I made for Love My Tapes to share today, again this one is off to CHA, and yes again I wish I was going with it!  Speaking of CHA I really wish I could share with you the new product LMT is releasing, better yet I wish I had a photo to share...sadly I can't....but let's just say it's a VERY HOT product!! ;)

This is a picture of my 3 chicklets from Christmas morning all wearing their new hats they got and looking darn cute together!

On this layout I used 3 different LMT Fabric Tapes for the colorful strips, and see that fun little vintage girl holding the heart she is from one of the LMT Canvas Sticker sheets.

Today I have a layout I made for Love My Tapes to share.  This one has been sent off to the LMT home office and will be making it's way to CHA at the end of the month, I wish I was going too!

I know pink is not usually used for boy layouts.......but I've never been one to follow the 'rules' that closely!  But I didn't want the layout to be too girly so I added some more boyish elements with the gears, which I covered in the Newsprint Fabric Sheet then colored with Distress Stains.

I have another layout for Love My Tapes to share today.

It was Sami's 9th birthday yesterday, we took her out for lunch to celebrate, it was just the 5 of us and we had a great time.  When we got home from lunch she opened her gifts from us and was SO excited about the gold dress we gave her.  I can't wait until she wears it at Christmas!

This will be my last post until after the holidays, so I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!

Christmas Blog Hop!

I made a sweet little vintage/grunge inspired Christmas wall hanging to share today.

The Base was a plain wood wall plaque that I found at the dollar store, which I covered in torn strips of three different fabric sheets, white newsprint, brown newsprint, cream with flowers, and a few layers of lace tape.  Once I had all my layers down I used a little off white paint over top, but I kept it just light enough that some of the patterns from the fabric sheets show through.

Quick Cards

December is always such a busy time of year, and if you're like me you don't have your Christmas cards done.  So here are a couple of easy quick cards I made using products from Love My Tapes, which will hopefully inspire you (and me! LOL) to get a move on those cards!

On this first card I used the Emily Fabric Tape and some Beige Lace Tape.

For this one I used the red & white polka dot Fabric Sheet as the background with a strip of White Lace Tape at the bottom. This card was so quick but I love the texture of it!

I also had a little birdie whisper in my ear that there might just a blog hop going on this weekend at Love My Tapes....be sure to watch the blog for details! ;)

Christmas Tradition

Christmas is always full of traditions, some old, some newer but they are part of what make celebrating the holidays so special.

One thing I always remember from Christmas morning was having to wait at the top of the stairs with my brothers while my Mom went down stairs to make sure Santa had come.  I started this tradition with my own kids, every year they have to stay at the very top & wait until I say it's ok to come down.  Last year I snapped a photo of the 3 of them, they look so sleepy...but I know they're full of excitement on the inside!

I hope that my kids remember these mornings and waiting at the top of the stairs with the same happiness as I do....and perhaps they'll keep the tradition once they have their own kids!

Getting In The Mood

We've started to see some snow here, which always gets me in the mood for Christmas!

To kick start my Christmas spirit I made this layout featuring the red & white polka dot Fabric Sheet from Love My Tapes.  I also added some small strips of Lace Tape throughout the layout for extra texture.

I love how the red pops off the vintage looking paper!!

It's been a great weekend here, we had two full days with no hockey...which meant lots of time to do what we wanted to! YAY!  I spent some time scrapping, started my Christmas shopping and went out with friends.  Today well, it was all about hockey at our house with all 3 kids playing today.  A great weekend indeed!



Guest Book

It seems like it's been forever since I posted.....really must change that!

Today I have a little project I created for a staff member who is retiring today.  We're throwing him a retirement reception and I wanted to make a guest book for all his friends & peers to sign and write some personal message wishing him the best on his new journey.

I used a piece of THIS Fabric Sheet from Love My Tapes which I cut using a Tim Holtz Sizzix die.  I added a strip of the Striped Fabric Tape, which I first stained with Distress Stain to finish off the 'spine' of the book.

I hope he enjoys the book and has a very happy retirement.

A little piece of Christmas

I've started to get into the Christmas spirit...just a little bit.  I am determined this year to get a head start on Christmas projects before all chaos hits my house!

Today I have a mixed media canvas to share, this was inspired by the fabulous Christy Tomlinson and THIS canvase she made last year.

I used pieces of scrap paper and some of the wonderful Love My Tapes Lace Tape & Fabric Sheet which I died with Distress Stains to make my tree..I love the extra texture these pieces add to my canvas! The deer was cut out using a Sizzix die and THIS Fabric Sheet. I also covered a chipboard star for the top of my tree using the Lemon Bar Fabric Tape.
